Custom Chest Board and Storage Chest

A Customer had brought me in a stand early in the Spring of 2009 and requested a chest board be made for the stand. The board is 2 1/2 inch squares made of birch and black walnut with the frame made of oak and chestnut. The board is shown with no finish, including the storage chest made of birch for the chessmen: Chessmen are commercially supplied by the owner for this photo.

My First Attempt At Elizabethan Garb

The photo below shows my first time at making a design and making the garment of an Elizabethan era dress. In Elizabethan times a dress was made of several pieces starting with a kirtel and working outwards to the overskirt. This photo show this with the white, being the kirtel (made of white brocade table cloth) and the outer dress which is actually two pieces, a wool overskirt, and a wool vest type jacket also known as a doublet. It is trimed with white cording. The ruff shown is made of silk. This garment was made in early September of 2008.
